京都府京都市南区東九条明田町7番　〒601-8044

デザインとアートの双方からアプローチを続けている「川上俊／shun kawakami」の個展が、京都「hotel anteroom kyoto」にて開催されます。本展には、近年制作致しましたアートワークを結集させるとともに、新たな作品も展示予定です。

作品では間や余白を重んじて空間の緊張感を生かすと共に、日本独自の美意識を、和紙や金箔銀箔等の伝統工芸、松や生け花のコラージュ、カリグラフィなどを組み合わせて表現致します。「白と黒（=光と影）」が成すモノクロームの美術表現と、印刷や映像、インスタレーションなど、デザイン的アップローチで再考し表現する川上の作品を一望することのできる展覧会です

12月4日（日）オープニングレセプション、2012年1月9日（月／祝日）には、アーティストトークが予定されています。

作家略歴：

川上俊（かわかみしゅん）｜アートディレクター、デザイナー、アーティスト
1977年東京都生まれ。artless Inc.代表。アートとデザインの境界を行き来するように、ジャンルやカテゴリーに縛られず広い視野で表現を考え活動している。コラージュによるモノクローム作品を中心に、思考や観念など意識の集合体、無意識の領域の具現化、日本独自の美を表現することを試みている。近年では、フィンランドのテレビ局（ch4）のために制作した映像作品が、カンヌ国際広告祭／ブランドデザイン部門金賞を受賞。また、NY ADC：Yong Gun6、D&AD賞、NY TDC賞、One Show、London International Awards、グッドデザイン賞、東京インタラクティヴアワードなど多数の受賞歴を持つ。

経済の変化とインターネットの浸透により大きく社会構造が変わり、混沌とした時代を迎えた2000年以降、あらゆる価値観も大きく変わる環境にさらされている。

アート、デザインというクリエイティヴの分野は経済と密接な関係をもたざるをえない要素から、現在の先進国の行き詰まり、新興国の急激な成長、後進国と呼ばれた国々の成長により、意識レベルの標準化に限りなく近づく方向に時代は動いている。そこでは、従来の型にはまったクリエイティヴの定義ではなく、新しいアート、デザインなどのクリエイティヴの定義が求められてくる時代である。すでに多くのクリエイティヴの分野で、個々の活動が分野にあてはまらずに自己の存在を危惧する多くの作家と出会ってきた。

彼らの求めるものが、従来のカテゴリー分野とは微妙に異なってきているのが主な理由だが、その回答は現れず、異端児という言葉で片付けられてきた。こうした社会状況を背景に新しい時代の新しい定義を求めるために+81 Gallery+Labの実験がはじまった。

2010年に活動を始めた+81 Gallery+Labでは、従来のアートやデザインというカテゴライズされた分野にとらわれることなく、+81の視点から世界を俯瞰して選択された作家群であり、世界の新しい価値観を築ける能力を基準として展示している。従来のアート型のヒエラルキーとは対照的な、世界の求める潜在ニーズの発見と定義づけを命題として運営されている。Andy Warholに象徴されるポップ・アートという分野が、裾野の広さ、幅、奥行きを拡大して、一部のコレクターと専門家であるアートというフィールドを一般大衆にまで知らしめたように、インターネットの普及した21世紀に新しい時代のポップ・アートが生み出されるものだと信じている。

私たちは、新しい形の一般大衆に受け入れられ、後にも評価を維持できると推測される作家群をヴィジュアリストと称して世界に紹介していくために発足した。

This December, JETRO, in conjunction with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), will hold the "kansei-Japan Design Exhibition" at Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris, as the first in a series of exhibitions held under the Japanese government's "Kansei Value Creation Initiatives." The exhibition is also being held as part of activities to commemorate 150 years of diplomatic ties between Japan and France.

The exhibition, which will feature numerous product displays and visual installations, aims to promote understanding of the Japanese "kansei," or sensibility, found in Japanese design and products, as well as the "monozukuri" spirit behind Japanese manufacturing.
